Actemium completes UK rebrand for former HAC and SGS switchgear businesses

Harries Automation & Control and Switchgear Services have rebranded under the Actemium name, consolidating low-voltage switchgear and panel expertise within Actemium UK.

Harries Automation & Control and Switchgear Services have rebranded as Actemium Switchgear Llanelli and Actemium Switchgear Exeter, marking the next stage in their integration into Actemium’s UK network.

The two businesses are established specialists in low-voltage switchgear and associated control and instrumentation panel solutions. Their formal move under the Actemium brand follows their integration into the wider VINCI Energies organisation and strengthens Actemium UK’s portfolio in engineered switchgear and power distribution systems.

Founded in 1984 in Llanelli, South Wales, Harries Automation & Control built its reputation in the design and manufacture of low-voltage switchgear for power distribution. The later acquisition of Switchgear Services expanded its capability into bespoke LV assemblies, automatic transfer switch solutions, maintenance and upgrade work.

Today the two operations provide a broad range of low-voltage equipment including switchboards rated up to 6,300 A, power factor correction panels, distribution boards, ATS panels, factory-built assemblies, arc-fault detection systems and generator connection points. Their products are supplied into sectors including food and beverage, defence, education, correctional facilities, data centres and leisure.

The businesses also maintain established technology partnerships with companies including ABB, Schneider Electric, Siemens, Terasaki, Cubic, Eaton and Rayleigh Instruments.

Since their acquisition by VINCI Energies in 2023, the companies have become part of a wider UK organisation that now includes multiple specialist businesses delivering power distribution, control and instrumentation panel solutions. All panel systems are designed, assembled and tested within Actemium’s facilities in the UK.

Andrew Hunter, Perimeter Director of Actemium in the UK, said the move reflects the continued integration of two technically capable businesses with strong customer relationships into the wider Actemium organisation.
