GTR, Network Rail, GB Railfreight, Rail Delivery Group, ProRail, ERTMS (the Netherlands), SNCF, University of Birmingham and Grand Central Rail are just some of the companies that will be participating in the first ETCS Business Readiness Congress taking place on 1 -2 July this year at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Kings Cross in London.

Beyond the logistical hurdles of organising and scaling up training facilities, there is the fundamental challenge of ensuring that drivers and control room operators are truly ready. Robert Mawby and Paul Durrant , from Rail Professional Group (RPD), the ETCS Driver Training Development Sponsor, will discuss the key elements of effective ETCS training focusing on practical content, expert trainers, and innovative systems for managing and recording ETCS training.

Designed for passenger and freight rail operators in the UK and Europe, the goal of the Congress is to create a collaboration opportunity for operators to share best practices for ETCS adoption in the areas of driver training, overcoming operational challenges, adapting to new standards and managing transition risks.

With reference to many practical experiences and lessons learned, speakers will discuss the change management and cultural transformation on the railways that will be required to deliver ETCS optimally and successfully.

The programme is also available via live streaming.
