Enhanced lubrication and sealing improve precision

Rodriguez unveils enhanced BRXH profile rail guides design. The updated guides feature improved lubrication, a robust sealing system, and increased precision. These enhancements aim to boost process safety without compromising system compatibility.

Rodriguez has introduced an optimised design for its BRXH series of profile rail guides, addressing the rising demands in mechanical engineering and automation. The core technical specifications remain unchanged; however, targeted enhancements have been implemented to bolster process reliability, extend service life, and ensure consistent precision.

The guide carriages now feature additional lubrication points, facilitating better and more uniform lubricant distribution within the recirculating ball unit. Despite these changes, the systems continue to be delivered pre-lubricated, with an adapter ensuring precise lubricant distribution when applied from above.

Central to the redesign is the new sealing system, incorporating double lip seals both on the front and sides as standard. This offers robust protection against particles and contamination. Optional variants include non-abrasive seals, additional abrasive seals, and metal wipers, catering to demanding environments.

Accuracy has become a focal point, with class H now the standard, replacing the previous N standard. The tolerances for height and width have been reduced by approximately 50%, enhancing repeat accuracy crucial for robotics and automation applications. The accuracy class P will be available upon request, while class Z2 for preload has been discontinued, leaving Z0, Z1, and Z3 as the available options.

Further design modifications include an increase in the number of ground carriage surfaces from two to three. Additionally, cover caps made of either plastic or brass are now available for the rails.

Proven features of the BRXH series remain intact, including four rows of balls in an X arrangement with a 45° contact angle for load acceptance in all main directions. The variants A, B, AL, BL, and BS, along with versions with and without flange, continue to be offered. Existing coatings are still available, and a metal cover tape can be used. Rail lengths up to 3,900 mm are supported, with interchangeability maintained within a precision and preload class.
