Magna Mining has approved restarting Ontario’s historic Levack copper-nickel mine. A preliminary economic assessment forecasts commercial production in mid-2028, but the company is proceeding without mineral reserves established through a feasibility study.

Nucor plans new capacity for steel utility structures in Indiana. The proposed $105 million Crawfordsville expansion adds more than 120,000 square feet of manufacturing space and is expected to create 100 jobs, subject to approvals.

Trasteel has taken operational control of La Magona in Piombino. The Swiss group plans to restore output progressively beyond 500,000 tonnes annually while retaining around 500 workers at the historic Italian steelworks.

METLEN has signed another long term commercial gallium supply agreement. The unnamed Japanese chemicals group could take up to 16% of output from a new 50 tonne Greek production facility.

Bezant has started commercial production at Hope and Gorob, Namibia. The copper and gold operation is targeting at least 9,000 tonnes of October throughput before ramping towards nameplate capacity.
