Winvic Construction Ltd will use UKREiiF 2026 to launch a new ESG whitepaper calling for regulatory action to accelerate net zero delivery across the built environment.
The Northampton-based contractor, now in its 25th year, will return to the Leeds event with an expanded Winvic and Partners Pavilion. Ridge, UMC Architects, Maber, and M1 Agency will share the space, which will host panel discussions, technical sessions, and partner-led events across the three-day forum.
Developed through Winvic’s role on the advisory board of The Westminster Policy Liaison Group on ESG, the whitepaper positions the UK Net Zero Carbon Building Standard as a central framework for assessing net zero carbon performance in buildings. The paper calls for stronger regulatory backing to support consistent adoption across the sector.
The standard has moved from pilot to formal implementation during a period of heavy scrutiny for built-environment carbon claims. Version 1 was unveiled in March 2026, following the pilot released in September 2024, and sets out technical requirements, evidence needs, reporting rules, verification routes, and rules for communicating verified status.
Winvic’s whitepaper draws on input from UKGBC, RICS, BRE, CIOB, BWB Consulting, Firethorn Trust, Panattoni, Ridge and Partners, Royal London Asset Management, RTPI, UMC Architects, and Wordsworth Excavations. Additional insight came from The Lord Porter of Spalding CBE and Lancaster City Council during a PLG round table on the standard.
The pavilion programme will include a dedicated session on the whitepaper’s findings, with contributors joined by Mike Reader MP, Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Groups on the Built Environment and Infrastructure, Business Champion for Construction, and MP for Northampton South. Other sessions will cover social value, planning reform, build-to-rent, data centre viability, and industrial and logistics development.

Nelson said the whitepaper brings industry insight into the policy debate around delivering net zero at scale. Arun Thaneja, Technical Services and Sustainability Director at Winvic, said the document sets out “a clear call to action for regulatory backing of the standard,” with practical recommendations intended to give policymakers clearer routes to adoption.
