Forum Energy Technologies has launched the Model 6000 Launch and Recovery System, a compact all-in-one package for inspection and light work-class remotely operated vehicle operations.
The M6000 forms part of FET’s Dynacon product line and integrates the A-frame, winch, and hydraulic power unit into a single skid-mounted system. The design allows a single-point lift and removes the need for additional cabling or hose connections during mobilisation.
The first M6000 system, equipped with a Perry Super Mohawk ROV, has been delivered to a US-based customer and is already in operational service. It was manufactured and tested at FET’s facility in Bryan, Texas, allowing customer interface and witnessing during fabrication.
The system has been developed for inspection and small work-class ROVs, including FET’s Comanche and Super Mohawk vehicles. Applications include inspection, maintenance and repair, cable lay, pipeline and structural inspection, wind farm work, dam surveys, pre-survey tasks, and light construction activity.
Kevin Taylor, Vice President at FET Subsea, said: “The M6000 reflects our ongoing commitment to deliver more integrated solutions for subsea operators to maximise cost effectiveness. By combining all topside components in a single compact package, we’re helping customers mobilise faster and operate more efficiently. This is a system built with versatility and performance at the forefront.”
Key design features include a gimbal docking head with swing and sway functionality, a compact footprint, and pre-wired plug-and-play electrical integration. The configuration reduces vessel interface time and deck-space requirements while keeping the topside handling equipment within a single package.
The M6000 is DNV-certified and incorporates updated hydraulic and control technologies. It has a safe working load of up to 5,200kg and umbilical capacity of 3,300m, giving it a handling envelope for smaller ROV work without the layout burden of a larger, multi-component system.
The model entered production in 2025 after field deployment with a customer earlier in the year. FET says the system is now available to order, with further information available through its Dynacon launch and recovery systems range.
