B&B Attachments launches KAUP Smart Load Control 2.0

B&B Attachments launches KAUP Smart Load Control 2.0 nationwide. The advanced system, unveiled at LogiMAT 2026, enhances appliance handling with faster cycles and improved safety. It features optimised hydraulics and a plug-and-play design, reducing operator influence and maintenance costs. Available now from B&B Attachments.

Next-generation appliance clamp system delivers faster handling cycles, enhanced safety, and improved efficiency. B&B Attachments, the UK’s leading supplier of forklift truck attachments, has announced the launch of the KAUP Smart Load Control (SLC) 2.0 in the UK materials handling market.

The SLC 2.0 will be globally unveiled by KAUP GmbH & Co. KG at LogiMAT 2026, scheduled from 24–26 March 2026 in Stuttgart, Germany. Representatives from B&B Attachments will be present at the KAUP stand F07 in Hall 10 to welcome UK visitors and showcase the SLC 2.0’s features. This second generation of the Smart Load Control system builds upon the original concept’s success, with several hundred units already deployed worldwide by major appliance manufacturers and logistics operators.

KAUP’s patented Smart Load Control technology has revolutionised appliance handling by automatically adjusting clamping force based on load weight, effectively reducing handling damage and eliminating operator guesswork. The SLC 2.0 enhances the system further, delivering handling speeds comparable to conventional appliance clamps without sacrificing load protection.

The SLC 2.0 features a redesign with fewer components, optimised hydraulics, and integrated valve units, achieving operating speeds akin to standard clamps while maintaining intelligent, weight-dependent clamping control. By eliminating manual pressure selection, the system reduces operator influence over clamping force, minimising the risk of load damage. A new display and electric pressure relief valve facilitate quick adjustments when changing trucks or load types, and its self-contained, plug-and-play design allows clamps to be shared across fleets without affecting the forklift’s CE compliance.

Serviceability has been enhanced through simplified set-up and improved component access, reducing downtime and maintenance costs. Additionally, the integrated display records all clamping operations, with downloadable data and a dedicated test mode providing greater operational insight. Its real-time visual pressure feedback further boosts safety, particularly in high-level block stacking applications.

Neal Fowler, Sales Director at B&B Attachments, commented, “Smart Load Control has already established itself as a benchmark in appliance handling. With version 2.0, KAUP has successfully combined maximum load protection with the fast cycle times demanded by modern warehouse operations. We are pleased to bring this enhanced technology to the UK market.”

Engineering has shifted, but women continue to face narrow gates. Representation in engineering and manufacturing has improved over the past decade, yet frontline technical roles remain stubbornly male. As International Women’s Day approaches, the sector faces a practical question: how to turn gradual progress into a genuinely broader industrial workforce.
