Fedima supports local business with Sustainability Grant

With the first edition of its Sustainability Grant, Fedima is aiming at supporting local projects in the bakery and patisserie sector that can drive sustainability for the benefit of their communities and the entire industry.

The call for applications will officially open on 1 April 2025.

The Fedima Grant for Local Sustainable Initiatives is a project designed to support and promote local sustainable practices in the bakery and patisserie sector. By providing financial support to local projects that drive environmental, social, and economic sustainability, Fedima and its members aim to foster long-term positive change within the industry and the communities it serves.

Sustainability is at the core of Fedima’s mission and a key priority to ensure a responsible and resilient future for the bakery sector. With a bi-annual grant of €20,000 Fedima seeks to empower businesses, researchers, and other industry players in developing innovative solutions that can create a tangible impact. This grant is part of a broader effort to:

  • Support local initiatives that contribute to environmental, social, and economic progress.
  • Encourage innovation in sustainable packaging, production processes, responsible sourcing, and more.
  • Foster collaboration between businesses, researchers, and industry stakeholders.
  • Drive measurable impact at both community and industry levels.

The grant is open to small businesses, bakeries, craft bakers, and research institutes based in Europe (EU + EFTA, UK, Turkey) that are actively engaged in the bakery, patisserie, or confectionery food chain. Applicants are encouraged to submit projects that contribute to sustainable development in areas such as (but not limited to) circular economy, waste reduction, sustainable packaging, responsible sourcing, energy efficiency, and nutrition.

Candidate organisations cannot be a Fedima member (national association), a company member of a national association of Fedima or any entities affiliated.
