Siemens and Mennekes to simplify power distribution planning for EV charging
Siemens and Mennekes partner to simplify planning for sustainable eMobility charging infrastructure. Siemens Smart Infrastructure and Mennekes, a German manufacturer of industrial plugs and e-mobility charging solutions, are partnering to simplify and improve power distribution planning for e-mobility charging infrastructure.
The collaboration sees Mennekes selected as the first partner to join Siemens’ Simaris software ecosystem, giving electrical planners access to Mennekes’ industrial eMobility portfolio.
Through the partnership and Mennekes joining Simaris, the preliminary planning steps for reliable energy distribution for e-charging infrastructure will simplified, says Siemens in a release.
Siemens says the Simaris planning tools help electrical planners dimension electrical power distribution and determine required devices such as distribution boards, making the planning of e-charging infrastructure with Mennekes charging stations more efficient.

According to Siemens, Simaris tools enable the automatic design of all components and systems for e-charging infrastructure, automatically considering relevant standards. The tool creates planning documents and specifications for tenders, including budgeting. Additionally, it provides Building Information Modeling (BIM) data for smooth data exchange, so that the planning of the charging infrastructure can be considered early in the digital twin.
