Finnish technology company Tietoevry is partnering with Siemens to utilise its Gridscale X software platform to support digitalisation for grid operators in the Nordics.

Tietoevry supports its customers in the energy domain with a range of next-generation solutions aimed to digitalise the value chain, improve customer experience, enhance business performance, improve usability and productivity and empower customers.

With the addition of Siemens’ Gridscale X, Tietoevry can provide a wider range of IT services to grid operators in the region, which encompasses northern and central Europe, supporting the integration of renewable energy sources and increase of grid capacity.

“The partnership, leveraging Siemens expertise and the Gridscale X software platform, helps us add more capabilities to our next-generation solutions supporting our utility customers in grid life-cycle management and addressing challenges related to grid flexibility,” said Niko Jauhiainen, Head of Asset & Data Solutions, Energy & Utilities at Tietoevry.

Gridscale X is a growing modular software offering for grid operators to accelerate their digital transformation as they seek to manage the increasing complexities in their grids.

Magnus Torronen, Head of Siemens Grid Software in Northern Europe, says the ongoing energy transition requires significant changes to the existing grid infrastructure and how it is managed.

“Due to the electrification of everything, and rapid growth of distributed energy resources, companies need to think about new ways of working and collaborating. We need to look across sectors and the ecosystem, leverage the strengths of different organisations, and collaborate to successfully and quickly meet our net zero targets. Partnering with Tietoevry enables us to support utilities in a completely new way.”

Alongside the partnership with Siemens, Tietoevry also has recently announced achieving the ready tier level in the 2025 Microsoft copilot jumpstart partner initiative as it focuses on harnessing the power of AI and generative AI to drive innovation and efficiency in the energy and other sectors in the Nordics.

Tietoevry Tech Services was an early adopter of Copilot and emphasises the importance of user adoption in AI transformations as a priority in its approach.
