Kaluza appoints FinTech specialist Travers Clarke-Waller as CCO
Travers Clarke-Walker
London-based energy platform Kaluza has appointed Travers Clarke-Walker as the company’s chief commercial officer (CCO).
Clarke-Walker brings to Kaluza over 25 years of experience in scaling technology businesses.
Prior, Clarke-Walker served as chief commercial officer and chief marketing officer at British cloud banking tech company Thought Machine, where he played a critical role in its commercial growth from seed round to unicorn status.
Earlier, he held leadership roles at Fiserv, Barclays and EDF Energy. He is also an ambassador for Innovate Finance.
Commenting in a release was Melissa Gander, who was appointed CEO of Kaluza earlier this year in May:
“Just as technological advances have changed the face of banking, they too are reinventing energy as we know it. With a wealth of experience in digital transformation across both industries, few are better placed than Travers to drive the growth of Kaluza’s platform at this pivotal moment for global energy utilities.
“I’m excited for Travers to lead our expanding commercial function as we forge new relationships with innovative brands who are determined to unlock the value of the energy transition for their customers and the planet.”

Kaluza, which forms part of OVO Group, develops a platform for energy utilities to automate operations and improve energy flows across devices.
The company says their aim is to enable customers to build, launch and scale smart energy tariffs and products across EVs, solar, and heat.
Commenting on his appointment in a LinkedIn post, Clarke-Walker said: “I am thrilled to be joining Kaluza, part of OVO Group, as chief commercial officer!
“It’s great how sometimes the world comes back round on you, like receiving a call from an executive search firm based in the same offices that Thought Machine was based at for most of its growth journey, felt a little like going back to the beginning, especially as I walked into those familiar offices.
“But even better, it was for a role in the energy sector, where I spent the bulk of my working life before financial services and fintech.”
