Energy Web (EW) and decentralised computing provider Acurast are partnering to “enhance efficiency and sustainability in the global energy landscape”, states a release.
The partnership aims to seamlessly integrate Energy Web worker node networks with Acurast’s network, which should enable users to host the EW workers on that protocol.
The primary goal is to facilitate a more efficient and scalable deployment of digital energy solutions, Energy Web states in a release.
In a move to expand its digital footprint, Energy Web will leverage the Acurast SDK to roll out a new mobile application, which should enhance mobile accessibility as well as significantly improve the functionality for users to manage their energy resources efficiently.

The statement says the collaboration marks a significant step forward in enhancing the capabilities of both platforms and both are committed to sustainability.
Acurast’s approach to upcycling smartphones, giving them a second life as compute units in its decentralised network dramatically reduces electronic waste and promotes efficient resource use.
Energy Web Foundation is dedicated to accelerating the clean energy transition through its development of open source technologies for energy systems.
“This partnership underscores their shared vision of a more sustainable and decentralised future”, the statement reads.
The partnership is the latest in a series of steps to improve access and use of the Energy Web solutions.
Among others is the recent launch by Energy Web of its full remote procedure call (RPC) node for the EW Chain.
The offering is available in two flexible deployment options, the first being fully managed or ‘bring your own cloud’ for platforms including AWS, GCP and Digital Ocean.
Another is the release of the cloud-based ‘Green proofs as a service’ solution to enable businesses and organisations to rapidly construct digital registries for tracking, tracing and exchanging digital certificates for green commodities.
The solution’s features include customised data formats and schema, configurable business logic and rules and comprehensive registry administration, with which users can experiment and prototype the use of a digital registry to support a green commodity supply chain.
