The National Microelectronics Institute (NMI) announces its upcoming annual industry conference for the UK semiconductor sector. This year’s event is titled ‘Manufacturing the Future’ and will be held at the Liverpool Crown Plaza Hotel in the heart of the iconic city on June 5th. This important event will bring chip industry experts and entrepreneurs together to examine how UK manufacturers and suppliers are innovating together to build the semiconductor devices which will fuel future markets in quantum, med-tech, sustainability, net zero, photonics, space and autonomous mobility.

Renowned technology and business leaders will present case studies and visionary keynotes, with the focus on how the UK semiconductor sector can best position itself for global growth. The conference is themed around four topic areas: Emerging semiconductor trends, Scaling up companies for business success, The UK as part of global supply chains and The global view, as we hear from US and European governments on their plans to grow the sector.

In and around the conference, there will be an exhibition and a university innovation poster session with plenty of networking and business development opportunities.

Speakers include Carl Zeiss Research Microscopy Solutions, Sivers Photonics, Inficon, Plessey, Pragmatic Semiconductor, IQE, IMEC and The US Dept of Commerce.

Adam Woods, Network Manager commented, “We are excited to host the NMI Annual Conference in Liverpool, a city renowned for creativity, innovation and forward-thinking. This event will not only celebrate the forward strides made by the UK industry but also underscore our collective vision for driving transformative advancements.
This conference is always a vibrant well-attended event where the UK microelectronics industry comes together to network, do business and catch up with old colleagues and friends.”

Launched by TechWorks, NMI has been the industry body for the UK microelectronics industry for over 25 years, supporting the established Semiconductor Manufacturing and supply chain communities with activities that encourage innovation, communication and collaboration. Techworks is the UK trade and industry association for Deep Tech and Semiconductor, comprising of 280 member companies across four technology networks; NMI, TechNES, AESIN and IoTSF. We enable cross-industry collaboration between organisations to address shared opportunities and challenges across Semiconductor design and manufacturing, Automotive electronics and IoT Cyber Security.
