Symrise integrates beauty and biotics division

Symrise launches new division targeting holistic health demand. The establishment of the Care & Wellness Division marks a strategic shift for the company, integrating beauty, health, and wellness offerings. This realignment positions Symrise to meet evolving consumer expectations for connected care solutions with proven efficacy and meaningful experiences.

Symrise has launched a new Care & Wellness Division, marking a significant strategic realignment to capture the surging global demand for holistic health solutions. This move represents a decisive shift for the scent and care leader, transitioning from traditional category-based silos to a fully integrated beauty and health strategy.

The division’s establishment follows a strategic roadmap that included the acquisition of Probi, a leader in probiotic technology, in 2025. By combining its expertise in cosmetic ingredients, health actives, and biotics, Symrise aims to offer a single, science-backed platform for customers developing topical, ingestible, and holistic wellbeing products.

The restructuring is driven by a fundamental change in consumer behaviour, where modern shoppers seek connected care solutions. “Consumers are no longer thinking in single categories,” said Timothy Kenny, president of the Care & Wellness Division. “They expect solutions that support beauty, health, and wellbeing together.”

The Care & Wellness Division will integrate five distinct business units to unlock synergies and improve speed-to-market across beauty and personal care, biotics and supplements, and pet health. This integration enables Symrise to translate complex science — such as gut microbiome research — into diverse applications, from skin health serums to functional pet treats. By leveraging a global R&D network and a unified manufacturing footprint, the division aims to reduce the time for science-based molecules to reach retail shelves.

For B2B customers and food and drink manufacturers, the launch offers a more streamlined partnership model. Instead of sourcing ingredients from multiple suppliers, brands can access market-ready concepts that bridge the gap between measurable efficacy and meaningful experience.

“Establishing Care & Wellness is a natural next step in our evolution,” said Dr Jean-Yves Parisot, CEO of Symrise. “We are delivering integrated innovations that help our customers shape the future of care, supporting consumers pursuing healthier longevity.”

The launch aligns with the proactive health trend in 2026, as the aging global population increasingly focuses on healthy longevity. By focusing on innovations that support the body both inside and out, Symrise positions itself at the intersection of pharma-grade science and premium consumer lifestyle.

As boundaries between the pharmacy, beauty counter, and functional food aisle continue to blur, Symrise’s new division is set to become a primary engine for the next generation of all-day wellness routines.
