MyProtein has expanded its hero Clear Whey Protein range with the launch of Clear Whey ‘Splash Of’ – its lightest protein yet. When mixed with water, it creates a sweet, flavourful and light drink with a natural taste, 20g of protein and under 90 calories per serving.

Clear protein is a fast-growing segment of the sports nutrition market, offering a juice-style alternative to traditional milky shakes. It is designed to be lighter, more refreshing and easier to consume.

Clear Whey ‘Splash Of’ builds on the success of the hero Clear Whey Isolate, by offering a subtler, cleaner taste for those who prefer a lighter flavour. It is designed for consumers seeking more natural options, with Mintel research showing that 65% of UK shoppers actively try to avoid artificial sweeteners and flavours.

As well as using a lighter touch of flavouring, Clear Whey ‘Splash Of’ is low-sugar and sweetened with natural alternatives to artificial sweeteners. In a first for the UK and EU sports nutrition market, it combines Monk Fruit and Stevia – two plant-based sweeteners – to deliver a clean, natural taste, as opposed to the stronger notes typically prevalent in clear protein products. It also utilises a new protein recipe with reduced acidity, eliminating the aftertaste common in other clear protein products and delivering a more delicate, neutral flavour profile.

The global clear whey isolate market is projected to grow from $456m in 2024 to over $830m by 2034, driven by rising demand for refreshing, high-protein drinks and cleaner ingredient profiles.

Clear Whey ‘Splash Of’ is launching in three light, fruit-inspired flavours:

  1. Raspberry and Lemon
  2. Orange and Mango
  3. Pineapple

It will be available from Monday 28 July on the Myprotein website across the UK and EU, with retail availability to follow.

Neil Mistry, CEO of THG Nutrition, noted that with Clear Whey ‘Splash Of’, it is directly responding to what customers have told them they want.

“It’s protein, but not as you know it. We’ve engineered a product that not only tastes light, juicy and refreshingly subtle, but also boasts a superior nutritional profile with 20g of protein and under 90 calories per serving,” Mistry added. “By pioneering the use of natural sweeteners like Monk Fruit and Stevia, we are leading the charge in offering clean, highly effective supplements that don’t compromise on flavour or quality. This is the future of protein.”
