Corplex demonstrates environmental leadership with Carbon Neutral Certification

Corplex has achieved carbon neutral certification across its global operations. Covering the 2024 calendar year, the independently verified accreditation spans Scopes 1, 2, and 3 emissions, underlining the manufacturer’s structured approach to measurement, reduction, and high-quality offsetting across its international footprint.

Corplex has been certified carbon neutral across its global operations. The achievement covers the calendar year of 2024 and has been independently verified by VERRA and supported by South Pole.

The accreditation reinforces the company’s dedication to sustainability and its proactive efforts to combat climate change. To achieve carbon neutral status, Corplex completed a comprehensive programme focused on measuring, reducing, and offsetting its carbon footprint.

“This is a major milestone for the company and reflects the team’s hard work and commitment to sustainability,” said Corplex CEO Lucas van der Schalk. “Our strategy is not to let up, and carbon neutrality is a critical step forward in our work to reduce our impact on the environment. This is not the end of the journey, and we hope to inspire others to step up their attempts at decarbonising.”

The process included a rigorous audit of Corplex’s greenhouse gas emissions across Scopes 1, 2 and 3. Corplex also implemented targeted strategies to minimise its environmental footprint by investing in energy-efficient equipment, implementing photovoltaic systems in its manufacturing facilities, transitioning to renewable energy, increasing recycling and reducing waste

For the remaining unavoidable emissions, Corplex invested in high-quality, verified carbon offset projects through VERRA. These projects support initiatives such the Guangxi Longan Biomass Power Project that generates clean electricity and supplies heat using locally sourced biomass residues.

Moving forward, Corplex is committed to a multi-year strategy to continue its decarbonisation efforts. This includes setting more ambitious reduction targets, investing in innovative low-carbon solutions and further engaging with its supply chain.

“The work continues and our targets remain ambitious,” added Lucas van der Schalk. “Our award-winning closed loop system for out-of-home (OOH) media in Gloucester, demonstrates how innovation is critical for us to meet our sustainable goals. We have been recognised as among the UK’s most forward-thinking manufacturers.”

Last month, Corplex’s closed loop system won the Circular Economy Initiative category at the MRW National Recycling Awards. The company was also Runner-Up in the Innovation category at the Made in Britain Impact Awards.
