Alpha Manufacturing has been named Engineering Manufacturer of the Year at the Made in the Midlands UK Awards.
The Staffordshire sheet metal fabricator was shortlisted in three categories before winning the engineering manufacturing category at the Birmingham awards event. The awards form part of a national programme recognising manufacturing performance across UK regions.
Judges recognised Alpha Manufacturing’s approach to engineering, innovation, and sustainability, including its targets and contribution to the regional industrial skills base. The company has invested in automation and quality control processes, including targeted use of AI, to support production growth and maintain repeatability.

Alpha Manufacturing has operated for more than 40 years and provides precision sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing services across construction, nuclear power, rail, digital infrastructure, IT, and data centres. Its manufacturing model combines sheet metal processing, assembly, finishing, and supply support for customers requiring repeatable engineered components.
The award places the company among a group of Midlands manufacturers competing on automation, quality control, sustainability performance, and workforce development. Those measures now sit alongside output and delivery performance in many industrial award schemes and procurement conversations.
Alpha Manufacturing’s fellow shortlisted companies in the category included Nuclear Energy Components, Gibson Technology, Union Fasteners, Hydrotechnik UK Test Engineering, Micro Weighing Solutions, Voltempo, and LK Metrology.
