TNA Solutions has introduced the tna robag Quantum at interpack 2026, presenting the next generation of its vertical form-fill-seal packaging platform for higher-throughput snack production.
The system builds on TNA’s robag platform, which traces its development back to the company’s early VFFS packaging work in the 1980s. Quantum has been engineered to increase output per tube, reducing the need to add extra bagmakers when production targets rise.
According to TNA, the system can run at up to 300 bags per minute, depending on bag, film, and product type. Higher output per tube can reduce the number of machines required for a given production target, while also cutting the amount of associated infeed, outfeed, maintenance, cleaning, and changeover work around the line.
Snack production has become more difficult to balance as smaller bag sizes, multipacks, and frequent product changes increase the number of packs that need to be formed, filled, sealed, and moved. The packaging machine remains only one part of that calculation, with distribution, weighing, seasoning, film handling, inspection, and operator availability all affecting real-world throughput.
“For over 40 years, the tna robag® has continuously raised the bar in VFFS packaging through ongoing innovation. Quantum is the latest expression of that journey, built with the same pioneering spirit, and engineered for what the industry needs next,” said Michael Jonson, CEO of TNA Solutions.
Quantum has been built around easier operation, repeatable pack quality, faster throughput, and smarter event management. TNA says the machine architecture has been simplified to reduce daily intervention, while integrated training and on-machine event management are designed to help operators respond more quickly to production issues.
“Snack manufacturers are under pressure to produce more packs, more variety and more value, without adding complexity to the factory floor,” said Simon Hill, Group Product Innovation Manager at TNA Solutions. “With the tna robag® Quantum, we are helping producers rethink high-capacity packaging by increasing output per tube rather than simply adding more machines. The result is a simpler, more efficient line that supports higher OEE, lower waste and faster routes to profitability.”
Rather than treating the bagmaker as a standalone speed upgrade, TNA is presenting Quantum as part of a complete line architecture. Integrated with distribution and seasoning systems, the platform is designed to support a more connected production environment with fewer unnecessary mechanical additions around the core packaging process.
Visitors can see the tna robag Quantum live at interpack 2026 in Hall 14, Stands C56 & D56, from 7–13 May.
