CME To Debut Innovative Automation Technologies At PPMA 2021

Award winning Automation and Packaging Machinery specialists CME Limited will showcase a range of innovative automation solutions developed by the company for the Legal Cannabis sector, at the forthcoming PPMA Show.

Legalising the sale of cannabis in certain regions presented the opportunity for large scale growers and manufacturers to begin processing on an industrial scale and market their product in a range of formats, such as pre-rolled and packaged joints.

Quickly identifying the potential for automation within this rapidly advancing market CME has been instrumental in developing and taking to market automation solutions to produce these delicate, difficult to handle products with consistency and in volume.

Making its debut at PPMA 2021 will be CME’s AutoCone, which produces Cannabis joints at speeds of up to 30 items per minute. The system also achieves industry and application specific tolerances across a wide range of product weights and cannabis strains, each of which has its own unique characteristics.

Alongside this machine will be an example of the company’s Robotic Pre-Roll Packaging system. This system has been designed to handle multiple picks and sizes to ensure high levels of flexibility and is capable of up to 60 picks per minute. The system also incorporates quick adjustment features for different packaging quantities and formats such as Kush Tubes, Dube Tubes and Packaging Trays, plus the capability to deal with multiple cone size configurations.

(CME’s Pre-Roll Packaging System will also feature on the company’s stand at PPMA 2021)

The stand will also include a video link to showcase CME’s Automated Temperature Probe which enables CORE product temperatures to be measured using advanced Automation without the need for human intervention.  This technology improves the performance of product processing lines by speeding up production times, reducing inaccuracies, reducing headcount and delivering cost savings.

CME representatives will be on hand throughout the show to welcome visitors to stand C22 between the 28th -30th September at the NEC in Birmingham.
