Canvys expands 4K medical display platform

Canvys has added a 32-inch monitor to its 4K platform. The new medical display is designed for OEM system integration in applications including robotic-assisted surgery, diagnostics, medical imaging, and visual inspection.

Canvys – Visual Technology Solutions, a division of Richardson Electronics, has expanded its 4K medical display platform with a new 32-inch monitor for OEM integration in clinical and diagnostic systems.

The new model builds on the company’s existing 27-inch platform, giving medical equipment manufacturers a larger display format while retaining a consistent architecture across screen sizes. By keeping the platform scalable, Canvys aims to reduce redesign work, simplify validation, and support longer product lifecycle planning.

The 32-inch monitor offers Ultra HD resolution of 3840 × 2160, high colour accuracy, and wide viewing angles for clinical applications where image clarity and consistency are central to system performance. Typical use cases include robotic-assisted surgery, medical imaging, diagnostics, and visual inspection systems.

Medical display integration can become a significant design challenge when a larger screen requires changes to enclosure design, thermal management, optical performance, mounting, or electrical interfaces. Canvys is extending the platform with a larger format while maintaining a common framework for OEMs moving between display sizes.

The monitor can be customised across mechanical, optical, and electronic parameters, allowing OEMs and system integrators to align the display with specific brightness, interface, housing, and mounting requirements. That flexibility supports specialised clinical systems where displays need to fit within established hardware platforms or workflows.

Designed for regulated medical environments, the 32-inch monitor complies with applicable standards, including IEC 60601. Its True Flat design and non-reflective surface also support cleaning and disinfection requirements in clinical settings.

“With the addition of the 32-inch monitor, we are providing our customers with greater flexibility to scale their medical systems while maintaining a consistent platform architecture,” said Rainer Bornwasser, Vice President of Global Sales at Canvys. “Our close collaboration with leading medical OEMs ensures these solutions align with evolving clinical and system-level requirements.”

The expanded 4K platform reinforces Canvys’ emphasis on customised visual technology for OEM customers rather than catalogue-only display supply. Its medical monitor range already includes multiple display sizes, Ultra HD resolution, high brightness, picture-in-picture and picture-by-picture modes, DIN 6868-157 compatibility, and optional PCAP multitouch operation.
