Emerson to show automation systems at SPS Italia

Emerson will show machine automation technologies at SPS Italia 2026. The Parma demonstrations include AVENTICS pneumatics, Afag feeding systems, compressed air monitoring, ultrasonic welding, and electro-pneumatic control for machine builders.

Emerson will demonstrate pneumatic, electric motion control, feeding, and handling technologies at SPS Italia 2026, with live systems showing how machine builders can combine higher throughput with tighter energy and maintenance control.

At the Parma event from 26 to 28 May 2026, the company’s Hall 6, Booth J006 display will bring together technologies from its AVENTICS and Afag portfolios. The demonstrations cover automation components and integrated systems used in machines that move, transform, assemble, inspect, and package products across industrial production environments.

A fully integrated ball pen assembly machine will show the company’s automation components operating as a complete production sequence. The system assembles the pen, packages it using a Branson Polaris ultrasonic welder, and applies or prints a QR code showing the energy consumed during assembly.

Alongside the assembly cell, Emerson will present the Afag O-Ring Feeding Solution, a modular system developed for automated O-ring handling across multiple part sizes. Interchangeable kits support fast changeovers, while optional refill hoppers, ionizers, pressure boosters, and stainless-steel housings with integrated controls allow the system to be configured for different production conditions.

High-speed handling will be covered through a pick-and-place demonstration using vacuum suction cups and an AVENTICS air preparation unit to move LEDs from a fast-indexing rotary table. The display will show how pneumatic system selection, air preparation, and vacuum handling affect cycle time, energy use, and maintenance effort in compact automated machinery.

Compressed air consumption will also feature through Emerson’s Compressed Air Manager cabinet, an edge-enabled monitoring system that visualises and benchmarks compressed air and gas use across a machine, line, or multiple sites. By combining real-time consumption trends with cost, benchmarking, and CO2 data, the system gives maintenance and operations teams a clearer basis for improving energy performance.

A further Bernoulli demonstration will combine the AVENTICS Sentronic motion control series, ASCO 290/890 fluid control series, and XV pilot valve to show proportional pressure and flow control. Emerson will also present Afag feeding systems for medical caps and complex terminal block components, underlining the breadth of handling and feeding applications covered by the stand.
