Fanuc to demonstrate advanced automation at MACH 2026

FANUC UK will demonstrate cutting-edge automation at MACH 2026. The event will feature an Airbus-developed robotic drilling cell and the advanced FANUC FS500i-A CNC, showcasing FANUC’s expertise in automation technology. Attendees will gain insights into innovative solutions for aerospace and other industries at stand 18-449.

FANUC UK is set to present its latest advancements in industrial automation at MACH 2026, to be held at NEC Birmingham from 20 to 24 April. The highlight will be a live demonstration of an automated drilling cell, a collaborative effort with Airbus, featuring FANUC’s robotic technology. Visitors to stand 18-449 will also witness the unveiling of the FANUC FS500i-A CNC, designed to meet the demands of high-precision, adaptable manufacturing environments.

A focal point of FANUC’s presentation is the robotic drilling system, a product of collaboration with Airbus. This system, employing the M-800iA/60 six-axis robot, integrates a drilling effector and mobile platform engineered by Airbus, controlled via FANUC CNC. Tailored for aerospace component manufacturing, the system enhances drilling accuracy and boosts productivity, repositioning human resources towards more creative tasks.

“There are numerous benefits to aerospace manufacturers of automating their drilling applications with the M800iA/60, including improved accuracy and repeatability, increased output and better use of personnel,” stated Oliver Selby, FANUC UK’s Head of Sales. “The success of the Airbus drilling system demonstrates how important it is to collaborate with a robotics partner that will provide the right experience, knowledge, training, and technology to support companies to achieve their commercial aims.”

In addition, FANUC will highlight its FS500i-A CNC, an advanced numerical control system that promises to revolutionise complex manufacturing processes. With enhanced computing power and architecture, this CNC facilitates ultra-precise control and perfect synchronisation, while also enabling seamless AI integration.

FANUC’s expertise extends beyond collaboration with machine builders and integrators. The Coventry-based team offers comprehensive automation support, from feasibility studies and system design to full commissioning. This capability underscores FANUC’s commitment to aiding manufacturers in transitioning to digitalisation.

“As our history of collaboration proves, the right automation partner can take your manufacturing business to the next level in terms of increasing production output, improving accuracy, ensuring quality, and mitigating labour challenges,” FANUC representatives expressed. “We are excited to showcase to MACH visitors the range of system building services and level of expertise we have on offer to support them.”
