ifm introduces new OCF series fibre-optic amplifiers

ifm launches OCF series fibre-optic amplifiers with precision. The OCF series facilitates installation and configuration, reducing setup time. Equipped with two switching outputs, they manage fast processes and diagnostics. These amplifiers, with their high-speed capabilities and robust design, are tailored for demanding industrial applications.

ifm has introduced its OCF series of fibre-optic amplifiers, engineered to deliver exceptional precision in detecting the smallest or most transparent objects within compact industrial environments. This product line simplifies the application of established fibre-optic technology, enhancing usability and accessibility.

The OCF series addresses installation challenges common in complex automation settings. Featuring an intelligent clamping system with two spring-loaded locating lugs, the amplifiers allow for effortless installation on a DIN rail with one hand. The fibrelock system further simplifies the attachment and securing of fibre optics, significantly reducing setup time. The configuration process is streamlined with an intuitive OLED display and guided menu, ensuring quick and efficient operational readiness.

The fibre optics are designed for versatility and durability, performing reliably in harsh conditions. They withstand high temperatures, aggressive chemicals, and mechanical strain typical of drag chains. Their flexibility to bend around tight radii makes them suitable for a variety of applications where space and environmental constraints are critical.

OCF amplifiers feature two switching outputs to manage high-speed processes and provide essential diagnostics. With a switching frequency of up to 20 kHz, these sensors are ideal for rapid operations. Integrated maintenance functions ensure optimal performance, enhancing system availability, reducing downtime, and sustaining productivity.
