Advantech updates industrial cellular routers

Advantech has introduced updates to its ICR-2000/2400/2500/2600 series of industrial cellular routers. These devices are designed to deliver dependable wireless communication over mobile networks, particularly supporting Category 4 (Cat.4) services on LTE networks.

The range also includes models operating on the 450MHz band, alongside those featuring Cat-M and Cat-NB technology with 450MHz compatibility. Combining high performance with versatility, the ICR-2000/2400/2500/2600 series is ideal for a variety of industrial applications, including environmental monitoring, vending machines, and surveillance. The routers are capable of peak downlink speeds up to 150 Mbps, addressing the need for fast, secure, and cost-effective connectivity in demanding industrial environments.

The ICR-2000/2400/2500/2600 series integrates seamlessly with WebAccess/DMP, Advantech’s platform for managing, provisioning, and monitoring IoT gateways and routers. The platform features:

  • Zero-touch deployment: Simplifies the setup process, allowing quick deployment without manual intervention
  • Multi-tenancy support: Enables role-based access control, enhancing the management of devices across different user groups
  • Real-time monitoring: Offers scalable health monitoring and secure connectivity through RESTful APIs, ensuring comprehensive oversight of network status

The series operates on Advantech’s ICR-OS, a Linux-based system designed to provide secure and stable connectivity. It includes an easy-to-use web interface for straightforward configuration, along with advanced security features such as:

  • HTTPS, SSH, and VPN support: Ensures encrypted data transfer for secure communication
  • Enhanced encryption and authentication: Utilises sophisticated methods to protect industrial networks from unauthorised access
