AtoB@C Shipping has taken delivery of Aquamar, its fourth plug-in hybrid new-build in 2024.

Sustainable operations

Aquamar is designed with hybrid propulsion and shore power connectivity, aligning with the latest advances in maritime technology. With a deadweight tonnage of 5,350 and ice class certification, the vessel is equipped for efficient and sustainable operations. Integrating battery technology enables emission-free and quiet port visits, decreasing CO2 emissions by nearly 50% compared with the current generation of vessels.

Future deliveries

The shipyard launched a fifth vessel, Maximar, on September 5, 2024. Outfitting of the vessel continues ahead of delivery later in 2024. In total, AtoB@C Shipping has ordered 12 5,350 dwt plug-in hybrid vessels from Chowgule & Company. One vessel will be delivered every quarter until the autumn of 2026.

In related news, AtoB@C Shipping recently took delivery of Electramar, the first vessel in a series of 12 energy-efficient plug-in hybrid vessels. Click here to read the full story.
