Talema Appoints Andrew Michener as West Coast Regional Sales Manager to Drive Sales for KAMIC Magnetic Group’s Product Portfolio

KAMIC Magnetic Group, which brings together five complementary companies, hopes to attract Silicon Valley customers and expand their offering into new markets with Andrew’s appointment.

Talema, a leading manufacturer of toroidal transformers and related magnetic components, has appointed Andrew Michener as the Regional Sales Manager for the West Coast. He will work on behalf of KAMIC Magnetics Group to drive sales for the division’s comprehensive product portfolio.

The KAMIC Magnetics Group business unit provides customers worldwide with a comprehensive portfolio of power magnetics. It includes five specialist businesses: AGW, Avon Magnetics, ETAL, SIGA Electronicsand Talema, with a combined total of 1,100 employees, manufacturing in five countries and direct representation in the world’s most significant economies.

In his new role, Andrew will be responsible for identifying and building a pool of customers located on the West Coast and presenting KAMIC Magnetics’ range of custom magnetic components to the market. On starting his role, Michener outlined his goals as West Coast Regional Sales Manager.

“I want the KAMIC brand to be synonymous with the big innovators in technology and engineering. When somebody mentions Tesla or SpaceX, I want them to immediately know KAMIC’s products are involved, “said Michener. “The West Coast is the epicentre of innovation and I anticipate that in the next five to ten years, we can potentially bring in tens of millions of dollars for KAMIC Group”.

Andrew has an extensive background working across multiple industries in sales-related roles. Having started his career as a sales rep, he made the transition into radio frequency technology solutions after joining Gamma Electronics. Following a brief spell at Delta Electronics, where he worked with companies such as Boeing, he has now made the move to join Talema.

Michener goes on to explain the markets he intends to target. “KAMIC Magnetics’ product portfolio can be embedded seamlessly into almost any industry. For example, we are actively looking at renewable energy as an untapped market. The critical industries of medical and automotive are also key markets that I am excited to work with, while the growing military/defence sector offer huge opportunities for the integration of magnetic solutions”.

Dan Phelan, Head of KAMIC’s Magnetics Business Area, has echoed Andrew’s sentiments and is confident that this appointment can yield tremendous business growth in the West Coast region.

“The West Coast is an area of strategic importance for KAMIC, and there is huge potential to augment our sales funnel by leveraging our product suite across multiple industries. We are confident that Andrew is the right man to help grow new business in the region and drive KAMIC’s exploration of uncharted markets”.
