In January 2022, Oasis Marine Power carried out first-stage testing of the Oasis Power Buoy in the Port of Cromarty Firth, Scotland, and hailed the solution’s design a success.

Designed to offer renewable energy for marine applications, the Power Buoy is an offshore mooring and charging station that draws power from offshore wind turbines.

It is the first version from Oasis Marine Power to undergo development and is claimed to be the first of its type in the world to begin sea trials.

With many diesel-powered maintenance vessels contributing to maritime CO2  emissions at operational wind farms, Oasis Marine Power aims to support a shift toward zero-emission all-electric and hybrid vessels through the use of its latest solution.

Following the successful first test in a series of tests, Oasis Marine Power will now subject the Oasis Power Buoy to sustained sea trials and further optimization.
