Segen secures exclusive UK distribution for Papilio3

Segen Ltd secures exclusive distribution of 3ti’s FastHub. The six-month agreement allows Segen to exclusively supply the innovative Papilio3, a rapid-deploy smart solar EV Charging FastHub, to meet the growing demand for efficient and scalable EV charging infrastructure across the UK.

Segen Ltd has announced an exclusive six-month distribution agreement with EV charging infrastructure provider, 3ti. Under this deal, Segen will exclusively supply the 3ti Papilio3, an award-winning, rapid-deploy smart solar EV Charging FastHub. This provides installers and EPCs with a ready-to-sell solution that addresses the increasing demand for fast, scalable EV charging infrastructure.

The Papilio3 FastHub is believed to be the first rapid-deploy EV charging solution for commercial operators. It features 12 fast-charging 22 kW AC points, making it ideal for vehicle fleets, workplaces, and destination charging sites. Its free-standing design enables installation in less than a day, without requiring planning permission or extensive groundwork. Controlled by 3ti’s patented intelligent power management technology, the FastHub operates using the customer’s existing grid connection, thus avoiding the need for costly grid upgrades.

The FastHub’s power is supplemented by a 20 kWp solar array mounted on its roof and adjustable wings, optimised for maximum energy generation. The intelligent power management technology balances energy use in real time, integrating on-site solar generation and grid-supplied electricity to meet EV charging demand efficiently.

With a compact footprint of 40 feet, the FastHub is suitable for deployment in car parks with at least 12 parking spaces arranged in two back-to-back rows. It offers a practical solution for rural areas where limited grid capacity has traditionally hindered EV charging infrastructure rollout. Integrated lighting, CCTV, and a protective roof canopy provide added security and shelter.

Spencer Conday, Managing Director of Segen UK & Ireland, stated, “Commercial customers are facing a perfect storm: EV adoption is accelerating, but grid capacity, planning constraints, and long installation timelines are holding back charging rollout. The FastHub addresses this challenge head-on by giving businesses a fast, scalable, clean energy charging solution that can be deployed almost instantly.”

For installers, this represents a significant opportunity. They can now offer a rapid-deploy system that bypasses grid upgrades, reduces installation complexity, and delivers immediate value. Segen customers are thus enabled to expand their services and capture more commercial opportunities in the EV charging market.

Since its soft launch in 2021, the 3ti FastHub has been deployed by leading businesses and public sector organisations, including the police, NHS, and Network Rail, to support fleet electrification goals. Segen itself has installed a FastHub at its training academy and distribution centre in Medway, Kent, providing convenient EV charging for staff and trainees, while also showcasing Segen branding and digital displays.

Jamie Birch, Sales Director at 3ti, remarked, “Initial demand for the Smart Solar EV Charging FastHub has been exceptionally strong, and we’re now focused on expanding access to make this technology more widely available. Partnering with Segen was the obvious choice. As the UK’s largest distributor of renewable technologies, they bring unmatched expertise, an extensive customer network, and deep knowledge of our solution.”

The 3ti smart solar EV Charging FastHub, Papilio3, is now available to order exclusively through Segen. For further information, visit Segen’s official announcement or explore more about 3ti at their website.
