Propulsion systems and electric boat manufacturer Pure Watercraft has unveiled an all-electric pontoon boat at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, USA.

The 24.7ft all-electric boat can be fitted with single or twin Pure outboard motors and a 66kWh battery pack. The propulsion system can propel the vessel to speeds of up to 37km/h while producing zero emissions. It is the first Pure product to be built in collaboration with General Motors.

Designed as a luxury pontoon boat for fishing, cruising and watersports, the vessel can carry up to 10 people and is said to provide a new level of performance with less maintenance required. The first vessels are scheduled for delivery toward the end of 2022.

“Pontoon boating is booming because people want to get out on the water and socialize with family and friends in the great outdoors,” commented a Pure Watercraft spokesperson. “This boat gives them a more enjoyable experience, free from engine noise and the hassles of fuel and maintenance, at a price comparable to that of a conventional pontoon boat. This unprecedented value is a result of our relentless focus on efficiency.”
