PEI-Genesis Launches Amphenol 62GB Value-add in PEI Zhuhai Plant

PEI-Genesis, a global leader in the design and assembly of custom engineered connectors and cable solutions, has announced the launch of Amphenol 62GB value-add in the PEI Zhuhai plant.

Recently, PEI APAC received the official certification from Amphenol UK,  authorizing the Zhuhai manufacturing facility to assemble Amphenol 62GB connectors. Amphenol UK designed the Amphenol 62GB connector series based on the MIL-DTL-26482 specifications, intended for harsh environments and heavy-duty industrial applications with high voltage and high-power rating in ruggedized brass and or stainless-steel shell options.

Amphenol 62GB is the 8th Amphenol value-add connector product series in Zhuhai after PT, E&R 5015, Amphe-Lite, A&B 97 series, Reverse Bayonet, SurLok cable assembly, and ACAB Bayonet. PEI Zhuhai now boasts 14 value-add series of 3 brands: Amphenol, ITT Cannon, and Souriau to support 48 hours of built-to-order service to China & APAC customers. The product series also offers both alternate keying and insert rotation options to reduce the risk of improper mating in applications.

In August 2021, the Amphenol 62GB implementation project was dispatched and has continued its success today. This initiative has run smoothly with help from Jonathan Parry, PEI-Genesis Senior Vice President and Managing Director Europe, and guidance from  PEI’s UK Operations team: Steve Watson and Mark Baillie. Jason Dong, Zhuhai Plant Manager, Yong-Zhong Zeng, Manufacturing Technology & Facility Manager, provided local leadership while Eryk Liu, Product Manager, coordinated the project with three parties, including Amphenol UK.

Alex Tsui, Vice President and Managing Director of Asia Pacific, PEI-Genesis, states, “In 2022, we will continue to expand the number of value-add lines in Zhuhai and beyond. This is crucial to the growth strategy of PEI’s core competence and value propositions of fast delivery, a wide range of product availability, and local component inventory.”
