MEAN WELL introduces SPWM constant-voltage lighting drivers

MEAN WELL launches new SPWM LED drivers for lighting use. The SPWM series offers enhanced dimming and colour tuning capabilities, supporting DALI-2 and push-button inputs. These drivers are designed for flicker-sensitive and emergency lighting applications, featuring a Class II design and extensive protection functions, with a 5-year warranty.


MEAN WELL has unveiled the SPWM series — comprising SPWM-75, SPWM-150, and SPWM-240 — as advanced constant-voltage LED drivers for modern lighting systems. The series is engineered to address the growing demand for tunable white and colour control, particularly in commercial interiors, retrofit projects, and smart residential lighting. These drivers feature a light grey elongated plastic enclosure with terminal-style interfaces. They are compatible with 3-in-1 dimming and DALI-2 protocols, with future models expected to support KNX and Matter standards, enhancing integration with various building automation systems.

The SPWM range supports DALI-2 DT6 dimming and DT8 tunable controls, offering installers a standards-based digital control path and a simple local override via push-button input. Designed for flicker-free performance and compliant with the CE ErP Directive, these drivers meet the stringent demands of professional environments. With Class II design, protection against multiple electrical faults, and a minimum dimming capability of 0.1%, the series is well-suited for emergency lighting applications. As control protocol convergence advances, the SPWM series is poised to bridge traditional professional controls and emerging networked platforms.
