LID World Summit 2025 to spotlight semiconductor innovation in AI, photonics and sustainability

CEA-Leti will host the 27th edition of the LID World Summit in Grenoble from 17–19 June 2025, bringing together more than 1,100 leaders from across the global semiconductor ecosystem. The event will take place at Maison Minatec and is set to highlight cutting-edge developments in artificial intelligence (AI), photonics, sustainable electronics and hardware design for edge computing.

The three-day summit — part of the broader Leti Innovation Days series — will feature keynote talks, technical sessions, startup showcases and cleanroom tours, all with a strong focus on the role of microelectronics in addressing global challenges such as decarbonisation, mobility, healthcare and space exploration.

Semiconductors enabling AI at scale will be a central theme, with sessions covering hardware acceleration, high-performance computing architectures and neuromorphic systems. Other agenda highlights include precision sensing, the FAMES Pilot Line for advanced heterogeneous integration, and the future of photonics in telecommunications and defence applications.

Sébastien Dauvé, CEO of CEA-Leti, said the summit comes at a pivotal moment for the industry. “As the world navigates profound geopolitical shifts, the microelectronics sector is advancing with bold investments, new facilities and cutting-edge equipment. Yet, beyond technology, it is people — scientists, engineers and visionaries — who drive true innovation.”

Now firmly established as a key date in the European tech calendar, the LID World Summit is designed to encourage cross-sector dialogue and accelerate industrial adoption of research breakthroughs. Attendees will include representatives from research labs, SMEs, OEMs, public bodies and multinationals, reflecting the collaborative nature of the industry’s innovation landscape.

Alongside the main summit, this year’s programme includes satellite events and themed workshops, as well as opportunities to meet over 20 exhibiting startups. A new series of virtual cleanroom tours will also be offered to remote participants, giving rare insight into advanced microfabrication environments.

The summit is part of a global series of Leti-led events, with other editions planned in Taiwan, Tokyo and key transducer and photonics hubs throughout 2025.
