Keysight Technologies has introduced the Pro XA6 SA6320A and Expert XA5 SA6210A signal analysers, extending its RF test portfolio for engineers working on wider-bandwidth wireless, radar, and millimetre-wave systems.
As wireless designs move towards higher frequencies, broader channels, and more complex antenna architectures, validation benches have to capture short-lived signal behaviour that can be missed during repeated narrowband measurements. The new analysers are designed to reduce re-runs during characterisation, debugging, and compliance work by increasing the amount of RF behaviour visible in each capture.
The Pro XA6 SA6320A is the higher-performance model in the new range, offering up to 8GHz analysis bandwidth and full preselection up to 67GHz. Its RF measurement capabilities cover wideband, millimetre-wave, radar, and electromagnetic spectrum operations applications, where low-level spurs, interferers, and transient impairments can be difficult to isolate without broad capture bandwidth and strong noise performance.
Keysight has also built GPU-accelerated demodulation into the platform for wide-bandwidth 5G NR error vector magnitude measurements. With up to 80MHz resolution bandwidth, the instrument supports standards-compliant signal measurements while allowing wider views of modulated signals, pulsed activity, and adjacent emissions.
The Expert XA5 SA6210A is aimed at everyday R&D, validation, and manufacturing test environments, with fast swept measurements up to 32GHz and up to 2GHz analysis bandwidth. Its dual-channel RF architecture supports 5G NR and WLAN MIMO measurements, as well as cross-correlated EVM, allowing more complex RF interactions to be analysed on a single instrument rather than split across separate receivers.
A redesigned user interface, larger display, and legacy X-Series SCPI compatibility have been included to ease movement from existing test systems. That compatibility is particularly useful where automated test routines, manufacturing procedures, and lab validation scripts have been built around established command sets.
Jun Chie, Vice President, Keysight Core Product Management, said: “Wireless design and validation are becoming significantly more challenging as engineers work with wider bandwidths, higher frequencies, and more complex signal environments. The Pro XA6 SA6320A and Expert XA5 SA6210A signal analyzers are built to help engineering teams capture more signal behavior in less time, increase measurement speed, and move from design and debug to validation with greater confidence.”
The instruments arrive as RF validation work is becoming more dependent on seeing the full behaviour of a signal, rather than confirming isolated measurements after successive test passes. In wideband wireless, radar, and high-frequency systems, earlier visibility of distortion, spurious emissions, and modulation errors can reduce the amount of late-stage hardware rework required before release.
