HIKMICRO introduces thermal inspection for predictive maintenance

HIKMICRO’s new thermal camera meets electrical power industry needs. The SP100H offers 865,000-pixel resolution, enhancing fault detection in utilities and power plants. Integrated software ensures efficient data processing, facilitating compliance and inspections. This innovation promises significant cost savings and improved safety.

HIKMICRO has introduced the SP100H thermal camera, designed to meet the stringent demands of the electrical power industry. With a leading 865,000-pixel resolution and thermal sensitivity of less than 20 mK, this device is set to transform operations in electrical utilities, power generation plants, and renewable energy facilities. The SP100H enables precise detection of minute temperature changes in connections, transformers, and circuit breakers, ensuring inspections are conducted from a safe distance with unmatched clarity.

The device integrates seamlessly with HIKMICRO’s intelligent Analyzer and Viewer App, forming a robust software ecosystem that removes workflow bottlenecks. This system converts raw thermal data into actionable reports for management and regulatory bodies, streamlining compliance and enhancing the inspection process.

As the latest addition to HIKMICRO’s SP Series, the SP100H offers scalable solutions for every budget and precision need, from routine maintenance checks to high-resolution fault detection. Shadow Zhang, Overseas Brand Manager at HIKMICRO, emphasised the critical nature of every component in the power industry, noting that even minor faults can lead to significant downtime and financial loss. “The SP Series is engineered to identify anomalies early, preventing failures and reducing risks,” Zhang stated.

The SP100H’s 1040×832 IR resolution excels at pinpointing issues such as overheating in small-gauge connections and faulty insulators. Enhanced by SuperIR technology at 30 Hz, thermal images are upscaled fourfold, providing exceptional detail in both live and recorded data. The camera supports five focus modes and features a rapid one-second focus speed, optimising image clarity and measurement accuracy. Its 90° rotating screen and 180° rotating lens facilitate easy viewing around target areas.
