Forterro adds 3E to manufacturing software stack

Forterro is deepening its manufacturing software portfolio by acquiring 3E. The planned deal extends its windows and doors software line across PVC, wood, and aluminium manufacturing, with cloud and AI integration forming part of the long-term platform strategy.

Forterro has announced its intention to acquire 3E, extending its software portfolio for small industrial businesses and specialist mid-market manufacturers in Europe.

The London-based industrial software provider said the acquisition would strengthen its Windows & Doors line of business, a category it has been expanding through recent deals involving Orgadata, BM Group, and Klaes. The 3E transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2026.

3E brings ERP, machine interface, and production planning software for PVC and wood manufacturers. Forterro said the business complements its existing portfolio for specialised manufacturers, allowing the group to support customers working across wood, PVC, and aluminium, as well as different stages of operational scale and production complexity.

Forterro has been building a broader software base across the fenestration supply chain. Its acquisition of Orgadata brought Logikal into the group for window, door, and curtain wall design and production, while Klaes added further capability across PVC, wood, façades, and conservatories.

As the portfolio expands, Forterro is moving toward a more connected manufacturing software model spanning configuration, planning, production, machine data, and customer workflows. Smaller manufacturers often hold valuable process knowledge in specialist systems, and the acquisition strategy gives Forterro a way to modernise those environments without forcing a single generic ERP model onto production teams.

Bernd Hillbrands, Managing Director Windows & Doors Line of Business at Forterro and former CEO of Orgadata, said: “3E is a strong strategic fit for Forterro. This acquisition strengthens our offering for specialised and industrial manufacturers, expands our support for mid-market manufacturers, and reinforces our position as a long-term partner to the industrial champions driving the European economy.”

Hillbrands said 3E had selected Forterro partly because of its AI strategy and the value it could deliver to customers. After completion, 3E will become part of Forterro’s solutions set for specialised and industrial manufacturers under his leadership.

Further investment is expected to focus on product innovation, cloud connectivity, and AI-enabled capability. Forterro plans to connect 3E to its cloud and AI-based platform over time, giving manufacturers a route toward more integrated business and production systems while preserving the sector-specific functions already embedded in their operations.
