Farnborough names 2026 display aircraft

Farnborough has named initial aircraft for its 2026 display. The first line-up spans military, commercial, heritage, and advanced air mobility platforms ahead of the July aerospace and defence event.

Farnborough International Airshow has announced the first aircraft and teams confirmed for its 2026 flying display, with military, commercial, heritage, and advanced air mobility platforms included in the initial line-up.

The Hampshire event will run from 20 to 24 July 2026, bringing aerospace and defence manufacturers, operators, suppliers, and technology developers back to one of the industry’s main international stages. Further aircraft are expected to be announced before the show opens.

The U.S. Air Force F-35A Lightning II Demonstration Team will headline the flying display across the five-day event. Farnborough said the appearance will be the team’s only public display in Europe this year, adding a fifth-generation combat aircraft demonstration to a programme that already spans several generations of aviation technology.

Military and heritage aircraft in the first announcement include the Rolls-Royce Vickers Supermarine Spitfire PR.Mk.XIX, an RAF Eurofighter Typhoon FGR4 flypast, a Czech Air Force L-159 flypast, and Ultimate WarBird Flights’ P-51D Mustang. The Starlings Aerobatic Team and The Falcons, the RAF Parachute Display Team, are also confirmed.

Commercial and industrial aircraft will include the Airbus A350-1000, Bombardier GLOBAL 8000, Embraer C-390 Millennium, and GE Aerospace’s Saab 340B. Advanced air mobility will be represented by BETA Technologies’ CX300 and Vertical Aerospace’s VA-1X, placing emerging electric aircraft alongside established civil and defence platforms.

The static aircraft line-up already includes the Czech Air Force JAS-39 Gripen, DHL Air UK B777-200LRMF, BETA Technologies MV250, Embraer 195 E2, GE Aerospace B-747-400, and General Atomic AeroTec Systems Do228 NXT.

Farnborough’s display programme gives aircraft manufacturers and systems suppliers a public demonstration platform at a point when civil aviation efficiency, defence readiness, and electric flight development are all competing for investment and engineering capacity. The spread of aircraft in the first announcement reflects that wider industrial mix, from legacy airframes and current military capability to next-generation propulsion and mobility concepts.

On Friday 24 July, the airshow will also host Pioneers of Tomorrow, its public and careers-focused STEM day. The programme will include live entertainment, simulators, Meet The Pilot sessions, speakers, STEM activities, a careers fair, and a digital jobs board covering apprenticeships, graduate schemes, and entry-level roles.

The current aircraft list is available through the Farnborough International Airshow aircraft listing.
