Emmi Group acquires UK’s English Cheesecake Company to expand. The Emmi Group, a major player in the global dairy industry, has acquired The English Cheesecake Company, a renowned UK brand known for its premium cheesecakes. This acquisition aims to enhance Emmi’s dessert offerings and solidify its position as a leader in the category.

The Emmi Group has announced the acquisition of The English Cheesecake Company, a prominent UK brand celebrated for its premium cheesecakes. This strategic move is set to bolster Emmi’s dessert portfolio and reinforce its standing as a leader in the category.

Founded in 2000 as a family business, The English Cheesecake Company reported sales of approximately £23 million in the last financial year. With over 25 years of experience, the company has established itself as a producer of high-quality cheesecakes, crafted using traditional British recipes. Their offerings, which include classic, vegan, and frozen cheesecakes as well as snack formats, cater to both retail and food service sectors.

The English Cheesecake Company enjoys a strong presence in the UK’s premium cheesecake segment, being available in all major retail chains. This acquisition complements the Mademoiselle Desserts Group’s food service market presence, providing an ideal extension to Emmi’s distribution strategy. The brand’s authenticity and diverse product range offer significant growth potential beyond the UK market.

Didier Boudy, EVP of Emmi Desserts, commented, “The bolt-on acquisition increases our presence in the fast-growing premium cheesecakes segment and contributes to the global indulgence megatrend. This represents a further step towards advancing our strong market position in the global premium desserts market and creating synergies within our portfolio.”

As the global demand for premium desserts continues to rise, Emmi’s acquisition of The English Cheesecake Company positions it well to capitalise on this trend. The move is expected to drive growth and innovation within the company’s dessert offerings.
