Desoutter and CSD to demonstrate integrated assembly at MACH

Desoutter and CSD will demonstrate integrated assembly at MACH 2026. Live handling, fastening, and robot-based demonstrations will show how manual support systems and automated tooling can be combined on production lines.

Desoutter Industrial Tools will appear on the CSD Automation stand at MACH 2026, where the two companies will demonstrate fastening, handling, and robot-based assembly equipment in a single integrated set-up. The exhibition takes place at the NEC Birmingham from 20-24 April, with the demonstration located in the Automation and Robotics Zone.

The stand will combine Desoutter’s assembly and drilling tools with CSD Automation’s bespoke automation and manual handling systems. A live demonstration will pair CSD’s Manipulift system with Desoutter tooling, allowing visitors to lift, position, and place components while carrying out fastening tasks. The system is designed to absorb torque during fastening operations, reducing physical strain on operators and helping maintain more consistent process control.

Chris Pykerman, managing director at CSD Automation, said: “To further emphasise ease of use, we’ll also be inviting attendees to take part in an interactive activity involving moving and sorting objects using the manipulator. This hands-on approach will demonstrate just how lightweight, intuitive and precise the system is in real-world applications.”

Desoutter will also show how its assembly portfolio extends beyond handheld tools into fixtured systems and integrated spindles for automated applications. Products on display will include the company’s EFBCA fast-integration spindles and its Axon digital control platform, both intended to simplify integration into automated equipment while maintaining precision, traceability, and process reliability.

A KUKA industrial robot fitted with Desoutter tooling will also be shown on the stand. Although the robot itself will remain stationary, the display is intended to represent a fully automated fastening cell in which vision systems identify fastening points and guide the robot through repeatable assembly tasks.

Alexander Hale, product manager at Desoutter Industrial Tools, said: “Our goal is to demonstrate just how easy it is to integrate advanced tooling into automated environments, whether a manufacturer has fully embraced automation or is just at its starting point.”

Desoutter Industrial Tools will be on the CSD Automation stand throughout the show. Visitors can find out more about MACH 2026 here.
