Coveris and Pollen + Grace unveil sustainable packaging with shelf stand-out

Teamwork between Coveris and a plant-based food-to-go business has delivered new vibrant packaging for Pollen + Grace’s range of nutritious fresh salads.

As part of its commitment to making eating better food easy, Coveris wanted the new packaging to enhance the salads’ shelf presence and communicate the brand’s values to consumers.

The sustainably sourced board sleeves and square kraft bowls, with PE coating, prevent moisture ingress and are complemented by clear mono rPET lids which contain a minimum of 30% recycled content. Pollen + Grace believes the development helps differentiate the salads from others on shelf as brand presence is enhanced. The bowls are also stackable, helping support product visibility and shelf utilisation, meaning consumers are able to easily identify and engage with Pollen + Grace’s visually appealing range of salads.

Utilising Coveris’ print expertise, colour management improvements have been made to the salads’ board sleeves to ensure that a premium colour standard is maintained.

Paul Robertson, Coveris’ food-on-the-move sales director said the business is delighted to partner with Pollen + Grace to develop a vibrant and eye-catching packaging solution that is visually impactful on the shelf.

“Complementing the salads’ quality and freshness, Pollen + Grace’s new packaging conveys the vibrancy of their ingredients and brand values excellently,” he noted.

Rosanna McCallum, Pollen + Grace’s head of operations said that after spending years perfecting the salads, the food-to-go business is delighted to deliver against a long running promise: to use new recyclable packaging together with recycled content, building a circular economy for our packaging.

“It’s been a pleasure collaborating with the Coveris team, who helped us get this important packaging project over the line against tight time constraints. Our products have never looked better on shelf, and we are so proud of the recyclability credentials the packaging solution offers as part of our wider brand mission to help people eat better,” she added.

Coveris will be at lunch! 2023 on stand L1147, 27-28 September, with its latest food-on-the-move innovations and will highlight its sustainability vision of No Waste.
