Bombay Sapphire expands its cocktail inspired range with new lemon infused gin

Bombay Sapphire has launched Bombay Citron Pressé, a new distilled gin with flavours of Mediterranean lemons, and the juniper notes of the brand’s signature vapour infused London Dry Gin.

The Bombay Sapphire flavour portfolio is inspired by iconic cocktails and the Bombay Citron Pressé, following on from the release of Bombay Bramble, takes its flavour inspiration from another classic gin cocktail, the Tom Collins. Consumers are increasingly wanting more creativity in their cocktails as well as natural ingredients, says the company, and recently there has been a growing popularity for flavours within the citrus space.

Like Bombay Bramble, this latest gin is the result of a crafted infusion process, which, instead of adding artificial additives or sugar after distillation, Bombay Citron Pressé contains hand-picked Mediterranean lemons, which have been harvested early in the season to capture their zesty, citrus notes before being hand-peeled and concentrated to create a 100% natural fruits infusion. This infusion is then blended with the brand’s vapour infused gin. The real fruits infusion gives Bombay Citron Pressé a distinct colour and natural flavour, says Bombay Sapphire.

Natasha Curtin, global vice president for Bombay Sapphire, commented: “We know our fans have a curiosity for authentic and new flavour expressions, while tending to favour natural, premium ingredients with no added sugar. After our successful launch of Bombay Bramble, we are proud to be building out our flavoured portfolio and continuing to elevate the flavoured gin category with Bombay Citron Pressé – inspired by the iconic cocktail, the Tom Collins. Allowing gin fans to enjoy a taste of the familiar, but with a twist, this new launch offers a naturally refreshing tasting alternative to the traditional G&T, perfect for adding creative twists to drinks and experimenting with cocktails.”

Ivano Tonutti, Bombay Sapphire master of botanicals remarked: “When creating Bombay Citron Pressé, it was vital that only the finest ingredients were used and a distinct production process to create the highest quality product. The Mediterranean lemons are harvested at their perfect ripeness and truly showcase the very best flavours that nature has to offer. By harvesting them early in the season, their lively citrus notes shine through in the gin, delivering a vibrant, sophisticated taste.”

As with all Bombay products, the possibilities for cocktail experimentation are the focus of this new infusion. Bombay Citron Pressé is easy to mix and the serves as a canvas for bartenders and gin fans alike to celebrate their cocktail creativity. Ideally served long, over ice, with tonic and a squeeze of lemon, Bombay Citron Pressé also works in many other gin-based drinks like a simple and light Pressé & Soda, a Presse & Cloudy Lemonade or an Ultimate Tom Collins. In addition to more complex cocktails such as a White Lady, or a Southside Fizz.

Bombay Citron Pressé has a RRP of £23 (70cl, 37.5% ABV) is available to purchase online from  BombaySapphire.com now. It will be rolled out to major retailers across the UK later this month. It will also be available at selected bars nationwide, including Mitchells & Butlers venues from 2 May.
