  • Nexans to supply 66 kV accessories for EA3

    Nexans will supply 66 kV wind farm accessories in Suffolk. ScottishPower Renewables has selected Nexans for East Anglia THREE, with 66 kV connectors and terminations supporting electrical continuity from turbine nacelles to the offshore platform, around 69 km off the Suffolk coast.

    ABB has expanded electrification and automation at Aitik mine. The upgrade supports Boliden’s tailings dam expansion at Sweden’s largest open-pit copper mine, using modular e-houses, switchgear, drives, and ABB Ability System 800xA to improve monitoring, safety, and uptime.


  • Corvus lands record battery order for CMAL ferries

    Corvus Energy has secured a record battery contract for Scotland. Remontowa Shipbuilding has ordered Corvus systems for seven fully electric CMAL ferries, each fitted with a 5.7 MWh Dolphin NxtGen ESS, with deliveries staged from 2026 to 2028.

    CEA-Leti and STMicroelectronics have unveiled a real-time Sweat Patch. The wearable prototype uses electrochemical sensors, microfluidics, and compact wireless electronics to continuously track pH, sodium, and potassium from sweat, targeting applications from fitness to heat-stress monitoring in industrial environments.


  • ABB agrees Netcontrol deal for grid automation

    ABB has agreed to buy Netcontrol to expand grid automation. The Helsinki-based supplier’s software and services are expected to sit inside ABB’s Distribution Solutions portfolio once the deal closes in Q1 2026, giving ABB more tools for utility control rooms wrestling with renewables, load growth, and resilience pressures.
