ASRock targets local AI agents with AI BOX

ASRock Industrial is targeting private AI deployments with local compute. Its AI BOX-A395 is being positioned as hardware for persistent, on-premises AI agents rather than cloud-dependent assistants.


ASRock Industrial is positioning its AI BOX-A395 as a hardware platform for fully local deployment of OpenClaw, an autonomous AI agent framework designed to run on premises rather than through cloud infrastructure. The move places the company squarely in a growing part of the edge AI market where privacy, cost control, and low-latency operation are becoming as important as raw model performance.

The compact system is built around AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor and supports up to 128GB of LPDDR5x-8000 unified memory, alongside high-speed storage options, dual networking with up to 10GbE, USB4, and support for both Windows and Linux. ASRock Industrial says the combination allows large language models, generative AI workloads, and vision applications to run locally without the need for separate discrete graphics or continuous dependence on hosted AI services. The system is also designed for continuous operation, with silent cooling and low power consumption pitched as part of its long-duration deployment profile.

OpenClaw is intended to automate tasks such as document analysis, email handling, workflow execution, and software interaction while keeping data inside the organisation’s own environment. That will appeal to companies that want to avoid sending sensitive operational or commercial information into external AI services, particularly where data governance, intellectual property protection, or network architecture make cloud-first deployment difficult. In those settings, the hardware platform becomes more than a box for running models; it becomes the physical boundary around how an organisation intends to use AI at all.

ASRock Industrial is presenting the AI BOX-A395 as a way to move local AI agents beyond trial deployments and into production use. For industrial and enterprise environments, that means dependable runtime, network integration, and enough memory headroom to handle larger models without constant optimisation trade-offs.
