IV Produkt, a leading Swedish manufacturer of air handling units, has been awarded Commercial HVAC Product of the Year — Ventilation at the H&V News Awards 2025 in London. The accolade was given for its Envistar Flex ThermoCooler HP R454B, an advanced heat pump air handling unit tailored to markets prioritising heating.
The Envistar Flex ThermoCooler HP R454B is a fully modular, fresh-air unit featuring an integrated reversible heat pump, optimised for frost-free heating in climates like the UK. By positioning the DX system and heat exchangers on the warm side of the thermal wheel, it ensures seamless heating without capacity loss during winter, while delivering efficient DX comfort cooling and free cooling in summer. This innovation addresses traditional issues of defrosting and air temperature inconsistencies in AHU-integrated reversible heat pumps. The unit’s CE-marked design includes a built-in automatic leak detection system and qualifies for all available BREEAM POL1 credits.
Offering 21 unit sizes, airflows up to 10 m³/s, and capacities reaching 175 kW, the ThermoCooler HP R454B presents an energy-efficient alternative to conventional chiller–boiler systems, simplifying installation, reducing plant-space requirements, and lowering operational energy use.
“This is one of our absolute flagship products and a bestseller not only in the UK, but in all the markets where we are established,” said Manuel Swärd, Export Director West Europe at IV Produkt.
The judging panel commended the unit for its ability to cut investment costs, reduce energy consumption, and minimise environmental impact. It offers building owners and installers a reliable, plug-and-play system with consistent performance from the outset.
Mattias Sjöberg, CEO and owner of IV Produkt, stated, “ThermoCooler HP is perfectly aligned with today’s needs. This award gives us an additional boost in the market, and we are well prepared for it.”
In November, IV Produkt expanded its production capabilities by opening a new 5,000m² facility in Växjö to meet the growing demand for its next-generation cooling units and heat pumps across Europe.
