Nexeon’s production facility in Gunsan, Korea, has successfully achieved production-ready status, marking a significant milestone as the first volume production site globally for silicon-carbon materials dedicated to enhancing lithium-ion battery performance. The facility’s location ensures a reliable supply of critical monosilane gas, a key precursor material, facilitated by close supplier partnerships, enabling efficient and uninterrupted manufacturing. Its proximity to leading Asian battery cell producers accelerates integration into existing battery supply chains. This strategic positioning allows Nexeon to leverage its leading global IP position in the silicon-carbon battery landscape, effectively serving global markets with an expansive customer footprint.

The successful commissioning of the Gunsan plant positions Nexeon for sustainable, low-risk capacity expansion. As demand for high-performance battery materials escalates, the facility’s design allows for the systematic introduction of additional reactors to rapidly scale production.
