ENVEA, a global authority in environmental monitoring and process optimisation, has announced that EU environmental legislation concerning waste gases is set to change. Industrial operators engaged in chemical activities will soon be legally required to implement continuous measurement and monitoring systems.
The regulatory update, known as WGC BREF, falls under the Industrial Emissions Directive (IED) and will come into effect on 12 December 2026. David Galvez, ENVEA’s Application Manager for Heavy Industries, emphasises the gravity of these changes: “The upcoming IED BAT regulations must be taken seriously. Non-compliance risks operational shutdowns and costly penalties of up to 3% of a company’s annual turnover. By taking swift action and choosing a partner with a proven track record in IED installations and regulatory understanding, these dangers can potentially be avoided.”
