SAFE S.p.A., a prominent entity in compression technologies for biomethane, CNG, and hydrogen, is introducing its latest screw compressor package at Ecomondo 2025. Designed to enhance biogas upgrading to biomethane, the unit ensures uninterrupted 24/7 operation, heightened energy efficiency, and simplified plant integration. It features a containerised plug-and-play setup, significantly reducing installation and commissioning times. The compressor will be showcased live from 4 to 7 November 2025 at the Rimini Expo Centre, at stand D5/114-215.
The new compressor is engineered for low suction conditions ranging from 100 to 500 mbar, maintaining stable performance with variable flow rates up to 2,500 Sm³/h and discharge pressures reaching 16 barg. With installed power options up to 400 kW, it is suitable for both small and large-scale plants. The inclusion of a water-cooling system, alongside an oil-flooded screw configuration with triple gas filtration, ensures thermal stability and reliability. Operating noise is limited to 60 dB(A) at 1 metre.
Central to the unit’s design is the compressor body, mounted on a slide-out removable skid, facilitating quick maintenance access. The control system focuses on maintaining suction pressure and includes automatic motor speed adjustments and a recirculation line to accommodate variable processes. Available options such as heat recovery systems, sub-cooling with chillers, and outlet biogas temperature control enhance overall efficiency and ease integration with plant interfaces.
