Hive Mind, the Welsh meadery and brewery known for its bold modern meads and honey-led beers, has unveiled its latest creation: Second Breakfast, a coffee honey stout brewed in collaboration with their friends at Rave Coffee.

Building on Hive Mind’s award-winning line-up, which includes the floral honey pilsner Nectar, the smoked honey porter Big Smoke and the bee pollen-infused hazy pale The Pollinator, the team’s restless spirit of experimentation has now turned towards the world of coffee.

Crafted with seven different malts, Welsh honey, rolled oats, and a heavenly mix of whole and ground beans from Rave’s signature blend, Second Breakfast is designed as a light, sessionable autumn stout. Expect dark roasted character, smooth sweetness balanced with coffee bitterness, and alluring aromas that blur the line between barista and brewer.

“This beer celebrates the natural kinship between roasted malt and coffee,” says Hive Mind co-founder Kit Newell. “Working with Rave was the perfect fit. We share the same commitment to authenticity, quality and flavour innovation. Collaborations like this aren’t just about brewing a beer, they’re about building connections with other independent makers who inspire us.”

The release of Second Breakfast highlights Hive Mind’s ongoing mission to explore honey in new and unexpected ways, while celebrating the creativity and camaraderie of like-minded small businesses pushing boundaries in craft drinks.
