Wall’s Pastry brings plant power to slices with new launch

Wall’s is growing its vegan selection with the introduction of two savoury slices, the vegan peppered steak slice and the vegan chicken and mushroom slice.

These exciting additions build on the phenomenal success of Wall’s Vegan Sausage Roll, which has seen remarkable growth of 23.4% (source: Circana 12 w/e 23rd March 2025). The slices have been introduced to broaden appeal and offer more variety in the Chilled Savoury Pastry category, and marks Wall’s first move into vegan slices in a major supermarket.

Wall’s Vegan Peppered Steak Slice and Vegan Chicken & Mushroom Slice (180g, RRP £2.00) are available nationwide in Tesco from May 2025.

The plant-based recipes are inspired by classic savoury pastry favourites, delivering the same incredible taste and texture of their meat counterparts, and offering an accessible option that appeals to flexitarians, vegetarians and vegans alike.

The Vegan Peppered Steak Slice is generously filled with plant-based steak pieces and onion in a perfectly seasoned pepper sauce, encased in Wall’s delicious flaky pastry. The Vegan Chicken & Mushroom Slice features plant-based chicken pieces with mushroom in a creamy vegan sauce. The slices can be enjoyed hot or cold, perfect for on-the-go snacking or satisfying lunchtime cravings.

Jason Manley, brand director at The Compleat Food Group, home of Wall’s, said: “We’ve seen brilliant momentum behind our Vegan Sausage Roll, and it’s clear there’s a real appetite for high-quality plant-based versions of familiar favourites. With these slices, we spotted the perfect opportunity to leverage our brand strength within plant-based chilled savoury pastry and developed a range that is truly tasty and representative of its meat counterparts.

“Our new slices offer more choice for those seeking plant-based options – as a hearty snack or lunch option for consumers who want to enjoy the foods they love, no matter their lifestyle.”
