UniCup awarded win at World Star Packaging Awards for LipLid innovation
LipLid – the new drinking experience from Swedish company UniCup Scandinavia AB – was declared the winner in the ‘Packaging Materials and Components’ category at the recent World Star Packaging Awards by the World Packaging Organisation (WPO).
The panel’s reasoning for LipLid’s win was as follows: ”LipLid is a winner because it is a better, safer and more enjoyable way to drink ‘on the go.’ 100% recyclable and 100% bio-degradable.”
”This is a fantastic acknowledgement of our innovative, climate-smart lid,” says Jesper Berthold, CEO of UniCup Sweden, LipLid’s producer. ”This award shows that the world needs smart and functional alternatives to the plastic beverage lids that currently dominate the market.”
The WPO is a non-profit, non-governmental, international federation of national packaging institutes and other interested parties, including corporations and trade associations. LipLid will receive its award at a ceremony to be held during the IPACK IMA fair in Milan on 4 May 2022.
