Trinity Railway Express information systems to be replaced
USA: The Dallas Area Rapid Transit board has approved a contract for MacKenzie Laboratories to replace the automated information system on the Trinity Railway Express commuter rail fleet which operates between Dallas and Fort Worth.
MacKenzie Laboratories will replace the public address and intercom systems, as well as the LED display signs and emergency communications. The new system will provide announcements in both English and Spanish.
DART said the existing equipment had been in service for over 20 years, and replacement was now necessary owing to the cost of repairs and as a result of component obsolescence.
